Hi, I’m Kim. I’m a maker, creator, and tea-lover based in the beautiful Lake Macquarie region of NSW, Australia. I’m also a proud mum to two energetic boys (aged 10 and 13) who keep me on my toes daily.

For years, I lived happily inside the “mum bubble.” My wardrobe choices were purely practical – things that could handle playground runs, trampolines, and sticky hands. But as my boys grew more independent and I hit my 40s, I looked in my closet and felt a sudden sense of dread. The fast-fashion trends didn’t fit my changing body, my personal style, or the quality I craved. I felt frumpy, disconnected, and ready for a change.

That’s when I decided to step out of the bubble and choose a slower, more intentional path.

My Mission

Sew Create Make is a space dedicated to the “made-by-me” lifestyle. I am currently documenting my personal journey toward building a thoughtful, boho-inspired capsule wardrobe from scratch.

I believe that clothing should be an investment of love, time, and care. Here on the blog, on my YouTube channel, and over on Instagram, I share the honest, authentic, and sometimes messy process of:

  • Sewing & Knitting: Sharing practical tutorials, beginner triumphs, and completely honest indie pattern reviews.
  • Slow Fashion Philosophy: Exploring natural textures, rich earth tones, and a vintage-boho aesthetic that honours our changing bodies.
  • Creative Organisation: Showing you how I blend traditional crafts with modern tech, using Trello to design my garment and the OpenWardrobe app to digitally style my capsule.
